Collateral Space

The Collateral Space is a globally accessible, secure shared information space for the DoD, providing improved and increased visibility and access to intelligence and operations information through a standards-based, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) encompassing core enterprise services and browser based tools. The Collateral Space includes a Federated Search (with military language understanding) of physically dispersed data stores, a digital production tool and an alert and subscription service designed to improve information sharing and situational awareness. Users also can access browser-based "sense-making " tools to mission-tailor data and collaborate with "experts" to meet operational information needs.

Content Staging

Currently operational at 40  locations including in Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Liberia, Content Staging provides discovery, indexing, retrieval, storage, and publish/subscribe services (smart pull) of information products (such as master air attack plans, ground apportionment and tracking, intelligence summaries, common intelligence picture, imagery products, and other information critical to the war fighter) in an intuitive, Web-browser form.

FusionNet

FusionNet is an application designed by warfighters for warfighters to meet the need for timely, accurate, and relevant information from company echelons and above, across Battlefield Operating Systems (BOS) and functional areas, in garrison and in the field. By integrating with higher echelon systems such as Horizontal Fusion Collateral Space and a variety of Army and Joint systems of record, FusionNet makes information from all echelons, up to and including the national level, available to warfighters at the tactical level. FusionNet is being developed and implemented by the US Army's XVIII Airborne Corps in partnership with Department of Defense and Department of Army organizations including OSD/NII, as well as leading IT industry partners.

Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JEOD)

Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JEOD) war fighters encounter and defeat improvised explosive devices (IED) and conventional ordnance in operational theaters around the globe.  After action reports from IED missions occurring in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere are captured and stored in the Joint IED threat database. The JEOD IFIS provider supports access to Joint IED Threat database incident information from the MARS portal.

Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Charleston (SSCC) Enterprise Engineering and Test and Integration (E2I)

SSCC evaluates technologies to enhance the engineering environment in addition to providing a developers "sandbox" for testing and integration of products before introduction into the operational collateral space. Engineering teams support Portfolio Initiatives and partners by providing support services while assisting, as necessary, to transition programs into the operational Net-Centric environment. Additionally, SSCC provides extensive support during the Quantum Leap demonstration and after hours in preparation for the Joint Task Force (JTF)/Operations Center which emulates and simulates an operational environment accommodating warfighters.
